1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage X-Pack

Propelling Aston V8 in the supercar League was a customized version of the existing 5, engine 340cc, breathing through a Quartet of carburettors Weber 48 mm and 42 mm than standard units. Valves and ports have been expanded and changed the camshaft, the end result being an estimated maximum output of around 370bhp. Chassis changes have been minimal, in addition to adopting more ventilated discs all round and low-profile Pirelli tires. Vantage was, however, easily distinguishable from standard product due to blocked from the hood scoop, front spoiler, intake blank Chin and lips on the top of the boot.

V8 Vantage progressed through three informal series, the first from the launch until May 1980, production above, second to 370bhp 1986, finals series, 380bhp and boast 408bhp X-Pack (note that the suffix "X" engine number). Incorporating lessons learned from limited production model Zagato, classically styled V8 Vantage Zagato received X-Pack uprated suspension, bigger wheels/tyres and for the year 1987, Twin fans, full flow oil system and much larger oil cooler. A new steering wheel and housing with revised switchgear and tilt adjustment also became standard. A total of 137 Vantage X-Pack cars were built before production, in 1989, of which only 43 were Left-hand ceased. An automatic transmission was offered as well and these 43 cars so equipped.
