The History Of Aston Martin

Martin turned his passion into a business in 1913, when he joined forces with Robert Bamford selling singer automobiles – their adaptation to the challenges up hill, which is an important part of early motorsport. Partners would produce its own cars – and the name was needed. Martin regularly competed in ascends the Hill and Aston-with a simple combination of the Hill and the driver, legend of Aston Martin .In 1914, Bamford & Martin Limited bought the premises in Chelsea, London – and the following March, was the first car Aston Martin. Equipped with Coventry Simplex side valve engine, it became known as the "coal Scuttle".


Further growth was of course, stop the war. But once peace was restored Bamford and Martin returned to make cars to new premises in London's Kensington. And once again, the competition was a success: the product in May 1922, Aston Martin, nicknamed "Rabbit" broke the top ten records of speed in Brooklands, averaging more than 76 miles/16 and a half hours of non-stop work. In the same year, Aston Martin has entered international races. With support from the former Brooklands legend count Zborowski, Aston Martin has built two cars for the French Grand Prix.
